Re-Grinding Service

A large data base of internal CV joint parameters and geometry, which covers primarily all European and Far Eastern vehicle manufacturers, has been developed over more than 10 years, enabling Drivelink to regrind a wide range of CV joint components.

Our OE quality universal C.N.C. track grinding machines are capable of grinding components of any CV joint up to a ball size of 25mm diameter.

Our track grinding machinery has been configured in universal form to grind the ball tracks of a housing and inner race, as well as the cage ball slots. They can grind standard radial and dual arc (Honda) type track forms, as well as cross groove 'VL' type (pancake) straight and angled track shapes in radial or Gothic arch forms.

Cutting bits comprise dressable vitrified wheels, with the dressing performed by a precision diameter disk mounted on a high frequency precision spindle.The machine's C.N.C. controls are programmed to dress the cutting bits to the desired specification track form. To ensure accuracy, the cutting bits are dressed to form, every sixth track, with a track finish equal or better than OEM quality.

The advantage of a true Gothic arch form track is that even pressure distribution is created with resultant extended operational life, assisted by inherent grease groove formation at the base of the track.

Bespoke measuring fixtures ensure consistency of size and tolerance as each component track is measured before and after the grinding operation.

Separate measuring fixtures enable checking of arc centre heights for both the inner and outer races, and are particularly useful for all hybrid/different manufacturer's joints, where track centre heights may vary. These dimensional checks are accommodated in process, without compromising grinding quality, surface finish or track to track repeatability.

Drivelink can offer a fast, competive remanufacture and return service for a customer's original unit ,ensuring quick turnaround of product, which includes a rebuilding service for existing original driveshafts, regrinding worn CV joints and supply of replacement inner (gearbox) joint components.

Utilising specialist in house designed technology - duplicate CNC controlled vertical tripod shaft track grinding machines, gives Drivelink the capability of automatically and consistently regrinding the complete range of tripod/bear claw type of driveshaft unique to the French built Citroen, Peugeot, Renault passenger vehicles and light commercial vans.

This machinery ensures excellent accuracy, quality and repeatability of the grinding process via CNC control, which cannot be guaranteed by other European rebuilders that generally utilize hand grinding operations for this design.
